Lights in the Distance

Drudging through a head-wind on Hwy 95, low on liquid water, and pushing 70 miles we spotted mysterious lights in the distance. Water? Shelter? Curiosity drove us on.

Thank you so much to Sherri at the ODOT facility between Burns Junction and McDermitt. She was kind enough to let us stay in her house tonight when we wanted only to camp and refill out canteens.

  1. So glad to hear you have a warm, dry place to sleep tonight (& liquid water!)! Yes, Thank you Shari!!! Just looked at the forecast for tomorrow... Variable clouds with snow showers. High 37F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. 1 to 2 inches of wet snow expected... Holy smokes!!
