The last landscapes we experienced in Oregon were those affected by the Long Draw Fire, which burned in July of this year.
Riding through, it looked like nothing but a vast expanse of chocolate-brown mud. We heard that last summer wind had caused dust storms, but now the bare ground was frozen and being covered in drifts of dry snow.
